Family Session with the Palfrey's

It turned out to be a glorious day yesterday afternoon! As I was driving to John Lawson Park in West Vancouver, I couldn't help but giggle. After having a bought of rain and fog the last few days I was nervous we would have to cancel again...but thankfully the weather turned around! We started out with the kids playing on the swings and then made our way down to the beach. Thanks everyone for a great photoshoot! You guys are a blast!

Well my son and I were in Ontario for our great pumpkin search this year. My sister found the most amazing pumpkin patch with all kinds of mazes, rides, bikes, tractor rides, bouncey castle, etc. for the kids. What a wonderful day had by all.

Off to Cuba

I am off to Cuba for my 10 yr wedding anniversary...my hubby and I went to Cayo Coco for our honeymoon and thought it would be fun to go back 10 yrs later...my how time flies when you are having fun and are married to someone who keeps things fresh, new and exciting!

A strange turn of events happened as to how I got to be a second shooter for my girlfriend Robin's brother's wedding...phew...

I have been hearing about this wedding for awhile and had hoped that I could be a part of it, but Michelle had already booked another photographer. Soooo I didn't think twice when Amber was looking for a second shooter...I told her I was available...great! Then I started talking to Robin about how I was second shooting a wedding on Saturday with another photographer...and Bingo Bongo...we realized I would indeed be at her brother's wedding! What a hoot!

Everything was just lovely...Michelle was stunning...Les was very dapper in a custom made tuxedo...the ring bearer and flower girl were absolutely adorable...the food was delicious at the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel and Dal Richards and his Big Band Orchestra were there to rock the house! It was also a pleasure working and getting to know a fellow photographer...thanks Amber for letting me come out to play.

I didn't get a chance to get many photos since I was mostly there to assist....but here are some of my shots from the day...Les & Michelle: Bet you are having a BLAST in Italy!!! I wish you many years of happiness.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being a second shooter for Kristel Wyman at Leslie & Leigh's wedding. It was really great meeting someone else in the industry and being able to shoot together (and share some tricks ;)...thanks Kristel...you were a joy to be around....as were Leslie & Leigh. They were very welcoming and incredibly calm and easy going! They got married in Stanley Park in a lovely ceremony on the grass, overlooking the ocean...and later held a cocktail party at the Sequoia Grill! That restaurant is amazing! Have fun in Italy!!!

We had a bit of time on our hands so we kinda went nuts on the ring shots! But how fun are these?!?!?!

Raymond & Rosana 8.30.08

After raining all week, I was extremely happy to see the sun come out on Saturday morning!! The day started with the girls getting ready at the Fairmont Hotel and then we were off to Rosana's parents house for the first tea ceremony and for the games to begin ;). The ceremony was at the beautiful Shaunassey United Church...then off to Gastown and Jericho Beach for some fun photoshoots...then off to the University Golf Club for another tea ceremony, a lovely dinner, some funny speeches/slideshows and then dancing! Congrats R & R ... have a blast in Vegas!!

Kevin & Rebecca had their wedding at the lovely Hycroft Manor in Vancouver on Friday, and what a stunning venue!! She has got to be the most laid back and calm bride I have ever had the pleasure of working with (and extremely photogenic)! From Opera singers, to antique lace and a bride and groom up for anything I threw their way...it was amazing...it was also fantastic to see Noel and Coralie who I photographed for their wedding last year. Noel was in Kevin's wedding party and is always a joy to be around! K & R you guys are so fantastic and easy to be around...thank you so much for making me feel right at home and having me share in your special day. All the best...

Danny & Maura's Wedding 8.9.08

This weekend two of my dear friends got married in Mill Bay, BC, and it was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever been to. From walking down the aisle to Somewhere over the Rainbow, to Maura & Dan writing their own vows, and just being surrounded by so much love/friendships, there was not a dry eye in the whole tent! Even though it rained, it was still an amazing time! Lots of laughs, tears, a few new formed friendships, and some seriously sore feet from all the dancing. Since I had the honour of being in their wedding party I didn't get a chance to take as many photos as I would have liked, but here are a few of my favourites from the day...Love you both very much! Thank you for having Mike and I share in your special day. You guys ROCK!!!

Rebecca & Kevin's Engagement Shoot

What a great evening! The weather was perfect and the sunset was so lovely! After a couple of attempts to photograph Kevin & Rebecca for their engagement shoot, we finally got together...and was it ever worth the wait! We had alot of fun trying to get Phoebe (the dog) to look at the camera...and also a few chuckles trying to get Kevin to relax during this shoot ;). Thanks for the random words Rebecca...I will have to use that again in the future! You guys did a fab job...I look forward to photographing your wedding on Friday! It's going to be amazing!

Camilo & Julie are such a lovely and sweet couple that it is not surprising that they met while working in Africa. This was such a special time for the both of them that they included slideshows, photos around candles, donations made to the Middle East and South Africa instead of your traditional favours, and some of their wedding party were friends that they also met there. Everyone was so enthusiastic and a joy to be around! Thank you everyone for a great day!The view from Julie's apartment was spectacular!

Alex & Judy got married in Minoru Chapel in Richmond on Saturday. What a cute chapel! They wanted an urban feel to their photos and something that you don't normally see, so they chose George Wainborn Park...aside from the sun being so bright, we still managed to get some great shots. Thanks to my new part-time assistant Roman for his help. Great first day!

Daryl and Sheila live in Ontario so the first time I met them was the day of their wedding! What an absolutely lovely couple. They were surrounded by a group of friends and family who watched them exchange vows at the Stewart Farmhouse in Surrey. There were many touching moments all around and you could definately feel how close this group is. Thank you for letting me share in your special day. The ceremony was just lovely...what a great setting! This is the groom's sister and father...they were amazing. Her voice sounded like an angel. This is the bride's dad and neice...so cute!

Lauren & Kristina's Wedding 6.28.08

I absolutely adore this couple and feel so honored to have been a part of their wedding! Lots of emotions at this wedding where you could actually feel the love and joy everywhere. The got married at St. David's United Church in West Vancouver, then we hit Granville Island for some bridal party shots and then off to the Vancouver Golf Club for a delicious meal and wonderful speeches. Second attempt at doing up her dress...

Paying out a bet...Lauren was the first to get married out of his buddies;)

Heartfelt laughter during the ceremony...this woman has such a beautiful spirit!

These flowers were just stunning...as were the bridesmaids in their beautiful blue dresses.

A string of police cars came to the church with their sirens blaring to congratulation Lauren & Kristina...it was AWESOME!!!

I just returned from Hamilton, Ontario where I had the pleasure of photographing Michael & Somer's Wedding. It was one of the coolest weddings I have ever been too! The announcement of the bride & groom at the reception included fireworks and dancing...the speeches were touching and although we were pressed for time during the bridal party shoot at Dundurn Castle, we ended up with some pretty awesome shots!! You are both a beautiful couple, inside and out! Thank you for allowing me to play a role in your special day... LOVED LOVED LOVED the gold shoes!

Mike and I were deeply saddened to hear the news about the sudden passing of Michael Philippot. We had the honor of meeting this very funny, entertaining and sincere man at the wedding of Noel and Coralie in July.

Michael was such a pleasure to be around and we really enjoyed getting the chance to meet him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Noel, Coralie and the whole Philippot family during this difficult time. We know you will miss him greatly.

Trash the Dress!!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing one of my brides again! Menemsha & Mike got married in May and were totally into doing a Trash the Dress session! I couldn't be happier with the results and couldn't believe what a trouper Menemsha was...I only had one shot to get it right with her in the water because it was freezing cold and I don't think she was very keen on getting hypothermia so that I could keep shooting...that and she was afraid of the sea lions that were nearby...but I do love the fact that you laughed the whole time!! You guys are awesome!

We started with a railroad track we saw on the way to the beach! Some of these shots turned out to be my favourite...even though Menemsha's mom was scared that a train was going to come ;o)
